Mighty Mud was the first place I visited in Knoxville over ten years ago; I rented a studio and the rest is history. It’s been a great place to learn and grow as an artist; I’m part of a community of clay lovers and have been surrounded by friends from the moment I stepped through the door. My first teaching experience happened here, with mimosas to ease my anxiety. I’ve witnessed scientists, doctors, teachers, architects and sports enthusiasts become proficient artists — and more than a fair share sit at the wheel and leave the worries of life behind for a few hours a week. I’m getting ready to embark on a new phase of life. Moving across the country and entering a new career. It’s nice to know clay – and my Knoxville memories -will always be with me.
